Elementary I-II Course

2018-2019 Elementary I-II Adult Learners

Elementary II Second Summer Course (6 - 12 years old)

Those enrolling in the Elementary II program must have already completed the Elementary I course.  After completion of both the EI and EII programs, they will receive an Elementary I&II Credential from the American Montessori Society.

The Elementary II portion of the training consists of a summer academic phase.  If the applicant has already completed a practicum with the EI course, an additional practicum phase is not required.

The Academic Phase (EII - 175.5 Clock Hours) includes a thorough grounding in Montessori theory and practice; classroom management techniques for managing individualized instruction; and the use, sequence and method of presentation of the Montessori advanced materials.

The Academic Phase is hands-on and experiential. Lectures alternate with laboratory sessions, using the materials in Montessori equipped classrooms, under the direction of experienced staff.

Classes meet for six weeks during the summer Academic Phase, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and two evenings a week until 6:30 PM.
