Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a Child related field or equivalent experience working with children

Responsibilities:
● Take leadership of a classroom with up to 12 children and 2-3 assistant teachers.
Be in attendance at all staff meetings and after-hour parent meetings, admissions events, professional development days or classroom socials.
Prepare and participate in two parent conferences per school year (Fall & End of Year).
Communication: Routinely provide verbal and written updates to parents on their child’s development.
Maintain current ongoing records (communication logs, conference summary forms, observation notes) on all students in your care using Transparent Classroom & LineLeader
Supervise, direct, train and mentor 2-3 teaching assistants in the classroom.
Plan and implement a classroom schedule identifying a fair and equitable distribution of job responsibilities for all adults to follow.
Implement a daily curriculum that honors the Montessori philosophy and the individuality of each child in the classroom.
Prepare appropriate lessons for each child based on observations.
Work in alignment with the Lead Teacher team and Administration developing and implementing the school’s strategic vision.
Collaborate with other lead teachers at CMSAA.
Maintain a beautifully prepared, organized, clean, safe and stimulating environment for the children.
Develop a weekly newsletter for parents detailing the week’s activities through photographs and include items that inform parents about the Montessori Method and parenting young children.
Attend and participate in weekly meetings with the Assistant Head of School and monthly meetings with all Lead teachers.
Build respectful, collaborative relationships with parents and colleagues

Job Description – Toddler Lead Teacher
The Lead Young Children’s Community (toddler) Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing the daily
Montessori program for enrolled children. The role includes helping to provide appropriate practices and high-quality Montessori education in a manner that fosters the child’s self-construction, ability to persevere a challenge, and extend grace and courtesy toward themselves and others. Qualifications:
• High School Diploma (required)
• Teacher must be certified (or willing to become certified) in accordance with the American Montessori Society, Association Montessori International, or North American Montessori Center to teach in a Montessori toddler classroom
• Bachelor or Associate Degree in early childhood education, child development and/or other related fieldspreferred, or
• Infant and Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA)
• Exemplary leadership, interpersonal, collaborative and planning skills, including classroom management (indoors and outdoors), as well as follow-through in lesson planning, school goals and deadlines

Performance Duties:
• Have a deep respect and love for young children

• Teach the Montessori curriculum and serve as assigned. The duties of the Lead Teacher include:
lesson planning, implementing the lesson plan, keeping all required records, submitting on time all necessary reports, records, and progress reports to administration, maintaining a clean and safe classroom and outdoor environment
• Be present each school day to fulfill professional obligations including accessibility to students, parents, other faculty members and administration
• Attendance at open house and parent/teacher conferences and additional meetings as required by the Program Director or Head of School
• Attendance at faculty, committee and in-service meetings, as well as professional development/workshops, during or outside the regular school hours as requested by the Program

• Acquire all school supplies, books or materials through the administrative team, by use of its official procedures
Demands (Physical and Special):
• Ability to sit (25%), bend, squat, walk/stand (75%), routinely throughout the day
• Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have functional senses/manual dexterity to carry out the job and communicate effectively

Environmental Conditions:

• Demonstrates adherence to State of Michigan Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers, Great Start to Quality, as well as policies and procedures of The Felician Sisters Child Care Centers, Inc.

Infant and Toddler Floater
Hourly wage: starts at $15 per hour; commensurate with experience
Job Assignment: The Infant and Toddler Floater works in a Montessori classroom environment with a Lead Teacher and other colleagues to ensure classrooms are within ratio throughout the day. This individual supports classroom management within the preschool, kindergarten, and elementary classes as needed. Duties include providing assistance during the work cycle, redirecting children to work, and providing aid to children in need of support. This role assists in providing seamless and respectful care throughout the child's day. The Floater maintains order and cleanliness of the environment and ensures that closing duties are met daily—the selected candidate must be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and supporting others. Essential Characteristics: As an Infant and Toddler Floater, one must be exceptionally patient and compassionate. Under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, it is the Infant and Toddler Floater's responsibility to meet the children's needs physically, socially, and emotionally. Must also like to laugh along with the children we serve!
Maintaining an open, loving, and cooperative environment for children is all a part of the job of the Infant and Toddler Floater. The selected candidate must have respect and an inherent love for children throughout the birth to elementary stages of development and assist the students with their most personal needs such as toileting, washing, and dressing.
The Infant and Toddler Floater must possess the ability to support the Lead Teacher in implementing lessons to meet the students' varying needs. We work as a team and support one another day-to-day and moment-to-moment...there is no other way! We are always better together!
Consistent attendance is essential to the students and the functioning of the classroom. The Infant and Toddler Floater is expected to follow Montessori Center of Our Lady's policies regarding absences and to schedule optional activities to minimize disruption to the classroom.
Responsibilities that are required of an Infant and Toddler Floater:
• Maintain the prepared environment by implementing the Montessori curriculum
according to the specifics provided by the school and Lead teacher.
• Follow lesson plans created by the Lead teacher; engage with the students during the
work cycle to meet the needs of each child enrolled in the classroom.
• Give lessons as directed by the Lead teacher one-on-one or group and assist infants and toddlers as needed.
• Communicate professionally with parents and colleagues.
• Communicate with the children using language and tone of authentic, natural, and, most importantly, respectful. Laugh with them. Enjoy their company.
• Promote feelings of security and trust in toddlers by encouraging and supporting them
when necessary through activities and practical life skills.
• Seek balance when supporting the children
• Respond quickly and soothingly to distressed children and ensure that they are comforted immediately.
• Follow the children and the classroom's energy to determine the needs of the students.
• Oversee and engage children during recess time; ensure that activities are stimulating,
age-appropriate, and safe.
• Be available, present, and focused on the children during daily transitions (i.e., work
cycle, walks, recess, lunch, and naps).
• Perform cleaning and maintenance necessary to keep the classroom and indoor/outdoor common spaces clean, beautiful, and safe.
• Must be able to stoop, squat, bend, stand, and sit on the floor throughout each day.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion.
• Maintain a positive work environment among all that is professional, kind, and inclusive.
• Engage in team meetings by sharing observations, asking questions about child
development, and best supporting each child.

Petoskey Montessori Children’s House is seeking an Elementary Lead Guide for its Elementary Classroom beginning in the fall of the 2024-2025 school year.
The Elementary Lead Guide will be responsible for overseeing the Montessori classroom for students in grades 1st-5th. The Guide will create a respectful, nurturing, and collaborative learning environment. Following a Montessori curriculum, the Guide will support students across all developmental stages and subjects. The ideal candidate will exhibit a kind and calm demeanor when conveying expectations to the children, allowing them freedom of choice whenever possible and redirecting them as necessary.
The Guide will also encourage a cooperative environment in which students take on practical chores/tasks based on individual abilities so that all students can understand they are an integral part of the community. The guide will continually assess students’ learning and maintain open communication with parents/caregivers to share progress updates and develop tailored learning plans. The Guide will take special care to identify students’ unique interests and work to incorporate those interests into the learning plans.
The Guide will manage the classroom by creating materials, taking inventory, maintaining the physical setup of the room, keeping electronic records and assessments, and any other duties required to prepare and maintain the classroom. The Guide will also provide training, guidance, and supervision to the Teaching Assistant and manage assessments for both internal (colleagues) and external (ISD & Charter School Partners) stakeholders.
The Guide will attend and participate in school events, trainings, and meetings, along with organizing enriching field trips to connect the students with the broader community.
Qualifications:

Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
